Drypoint and plate! First time ever doing a drypoint so I had no idea how this was going to turn out. Nice to finally work with a press again though, even if it was just for an evening.

Japanese paper chine-collé and linocut. Got some little bits to clean up on the edges but overall looks good!

I tried out some easy-carve stuff since I'd never worked with it before. It was kind of fun once I got used to it, but apparently permanent marker doesn't stick to it very well so it rubbed off all over my fingers and they're pretty badly stained. ... See more

I'll do a good scan of this when the ink is dry, but the last layer is finally done!

I had hoped for an edition of 8 and I ended up with 7 so I'm happy with that. Learned lots about hand printing and working with water-based inks and I know what to look out for next time.

While part of me is a bit sad about some of the splotchiness of the ink in areas, I also appreciate the handmade feel and texture it provides since I can't get that in my digital work. ... See more

Plan for my next printmaking class project. Going to be trying chine-collé for the first time, hence the weird blobs.

Last layer carved and ready for printing! Hoping this one turns out more solid than the last few since I've been having some difficulty getting good ink coverage with the hand printing.

Just one layer left to go (black)!
